AZURLIGHT NON-CONVERTED INFRARED UPCYCLING OPTION

posted in: Allgemein | 0

At Azurlight Systems, we produce visible wavelengths (up to 10 W) by frequency doubling of infrared light. This process not being completely efficient with our single-pass architecture, there is still a consequent amount of unconverted IR light. Instead of dissipating it (by recoupling it by a multimode fiber to a beam dump), we propose to upcycle this single-mode, single frequency, ultra-low noise radiation.

We thus inject it into an IR optical head, mounted next to the visible head on a breadboard. This optical head is equipped with > 35 dB of optical isolation, and you can expect for example about 20 W of 1064 nm upcycled from a 10 W 532 nm fiber laser.

Our visible wavelengths are generated by the frequency doubling of in the infrared inside this head. The residual infrared radiation from the SHG crystal is removed by a beam dump outside the head. Thus, the head doesn’t need any active cooling system. Another option is to recycle the infrared radiation. We combine infrared and visible into dual output head by injected the residual infrared in another head.

Azurlight Systems is the company in which we develop, design, produce and commercialize innovative fiber laser technologies! Why innovative? Because we propose original wavelengths! The products developed by Azurlight Systems are unique because they are fully fiberized which allows a much more efficient integration.

Azurlight is based at the City of Photonics in Pessac, France! It has joined the Alpha Route Lasers and Hyperfrequencies Competitiveness Cluster, which is boosting the economic development of the region through the progress and innovation of photonic, laser, electronic, microwave and digital technologies.

Why Azurlight Systems ?

The society was created in 2010, year where it won the « photon d’or » (gold photon) award for its blue-emitter fiber laser. This is the first and the only one to propose that, and so the name « Azurlight Systems » was born, with reference to this innovative wavelength.

Starlight +

Azurlight Systems is closely linked to the research community. Indeed, the company is associated with LP2N, a laboratory specialized in Photonics, Digital, and NanoSciences. The LP2N is a mixed research unit between the CNRS, the University of Bordeaux and the IOGS (Institute of Optics Graduate School). At the end of 2014, the two organizations LP2N and Azurlight Systems created the joint “Starlight +” laboratory. Their goal is to combine scientific production and industrial innovation. The stakes of this joint laboratory are mainly high-power, low-noise laser systems applied to scientific and industrial fields.

Azurlight’s products are intended for researchers, physicists and manufacturers. We, ourselves, are scientists who wish to best answer the demands of these communities! That’s why we demand a certain level of excellence and quality to our products knowing the requirements related to these sectors!

Each product is made in a clean room, dozens of tests are performed throughout the assembly of our lasers, at each step to verify and guarantee the single frequency, the power stability, the single-mode character of the laser, and its low-level noise even for high powers. They benefit a long lifetime, do not need special maintenance, and have low consumption.

The applications we carry are centered around physics, including Atomic & Molecular physics, High Performances Instrumentation, Argon Laser Replacement, Holography, Laser Doppler Velocimetry, Interferometry, High Brightness Laser Pumping …
